The Federation of Nepali Journalists is a common umbrella organization of all Nepali journalists with a history of 65 years. The main goal and commitment of the Federation is to provide organized professional leadership to Nepali journalists across the country and to develop the field of protection of the rights of working journalists. For that, the Federation has been promoting press freedom and counter-terrorism from a practical perspective, ensuring physical and professional security, and maintaining ethnic and international organizations and institutional policies in line with journalism work.
In addition, the Federation has always stood by all democratic movements in the country. The objective of the Federation is to build a democratic culture in the country that strengthens democracy and protects human rights.
The Federation is the association of Nepali Journalists, presented on Chaitra 16, 2012. The association was transformed into a federation in Jestha 2053. Currently, the Federation has more than 13,000 members.
