Chaitra 13, Kathmandu. The Federation of Nepali Journalists, the umbrella organization of Nepali journalists, is entering its 70th year on Chaitra 16. On the occasion of its foundation day, the federation is going to organize various programs in the central, provincial and branch committees.
A meeting of the officers held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of the federation president Nirmala Sharma has decided to conduct non-communicable diseases and cervical screening of women in the center and district branches outside the valley in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Population on the occasion of the foundation day.
As per the commitment received from the Minister of Health and Population Pradeep Poudel, necessary arrangements have been made for the health check-up at the central office in collaboration with the ministry and in the district branches outside the valley with the concerned district public health offices, informed the federation's general secretary Ram Prasad Dahal.
On the occasion of the 70th foundation day, the central committee has decided to hold a morning procession from Sinamangal Chowk to Sanchargram on Saturday, Chaitra 16 at 7 am and conduct health check-up at the federation's central office from 9 am to 1 pm, said General secretary Dahal. The health check-up will include BMI, high blood pressure, diabetes, kidney, cervical screening, etc. Earlier, such tests were conducted for honorable members of the Federal Parliament.
Members of the Valley, Pratishthan and Associate Provincial Committees as well as Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur branches, Pratishthan branches and associate organizations will be able to participate in the test at the central office.
Journalists affiliated with the district branches as well as the provincial committees in the district of the branch will participate in the test at the district branches outside the Valley. In addition, the federation has decided to celebrate the foundation day by organizing creative programs in the provinces and branches.
